Vic Rodriguez Biography

Victor D. Rodriguez, a Filipino lawyer who was the Executive Secretary of President Bongbong Marcos’ cabinet, was born on December 23, 1973. He previously worked as Marcos’ chief of staff and spokeswoman throughout the campaign. Victor Rodriguez earned his law degree from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. Additionally, he completed the Negotiation and Influence Program executive education course at the National University of Singapore (NUS).


Lawyer Rodriguez has participated in a number of legal organizations. He helped found Rodriguez & Partners Law Firm in 2003, and now serves as its managing attorney. He served as the UST Law Alumni Foundation’s treasurer and is the president of the Quezon City Trial Lawyers League (USTLAFI). He served as the Integrated Bar of the Philippines’ deputy general counsel as well.

At the age of 19, he was elected as the barangay captain of Sacred Heart, Quezon City, being the youngest person to occupy the position. He had previously been elected as a barangay kagawad. After serving as a barangay captain for ten years, he joined the Quezon City administration in 2002. At the time, Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. designated him as special assistant to the director of the Business Permits and Licensing Office. He then assumed control of the city’s Office of Community Relations..

Together with Antonio Lagdameo Jr., Rodriguez co-founded the tabloid Saksi Ngayon.

2022 Marcos presidential campaign 

During his presidential run in the 2022 elections, Rodriguez acted as Bongbong Marcos’ spokeswoman. Rodriguez joined the transition committee to help Marcos assemble his initial cabinet after Marcos was elected president.

Executive secretary 

Rodriguez stepped down from his position as President Bongbong Marcos’s spokesperson in order to take on the position of executive secretary. Rodriguez, however, was chosen to be Marcos Jr.’s presidential chief of staff but later resigned from his position as executive secretary due to personal reasons.
